PVSS Vision System Explained

Driving a premium electric vehicle requires confidence and clarity.Selected IM Motors vehicles address this need with the Proactive Vision Supplement System, or PVSS,a camera-based visibility system that displays additional exterior views on the vehicle’s digital screens in supported situations. Whether you’re navigating city traffic, cruising highways, or parking in tight spaces, PVSS is designed to provide additional visual information and support driver awareness in defined conditions.

This guide explores the visibility-support technologies available across the IM LS7, IM 6, IM 5, and IM LS9, including PVSS, Rainy Night Mode, and AI Off-Road Vision Supplement.

What is the PVSS Vision System?

The Proactive Vision Supplement System is a camera-based visibility feature available on selected IM Motors models. Instead of only relying on traditional glass mirrors, PVSS uses high-definition cameras around the vehicle to display camera views on the vehicle’s digital displays in supported situations.

This system is designed to provide additional visibility around selected blind-spot areas. It is split into four helpful parts:

  • A-pillar Vision Supplement: Thick front roof pillars can easily block your view of pedestrians or smaller cars when you are turning at junctions. This feature projects a clear view of that exact blind spot onto your screen, to provide additional visual information during turning manoeuvres.
  • Rear Side Vision Supplement: During a lane change, supplementary side-camera views can provide additional visual information around selected rear-side areas. This supplement displays camera views around selected rear-side blind-spot areas. Separate Blind Spot Detection functions may provide warnings when supported.
  • Rear Vision Supplement: If you have tall passengers in the back or have packed your trunk to the brim, your rear-view mirror visibility may be reduced. Rear Vision Supplement displays a camera view of the area behind the vehicle. Because the image comes from an exterior camera, its view is not directly obstructed by rear-seat occupants or cabin cargo.
  • Rainy Night Mode: Driving in heavy downpours at night is challenging because water on the side windows and mirrors distorts your view. Rainy Night Mode displays supplementary exterior camera views and enhanced peripheral road information in supported low-light or rainy conditions.
